Welcome to VPHREC
The Victorian Public Health Research and Education Council (VPHREC) was formed in 1999. The Council's goals and activities are detailed in the Mission and Services pages.
The Council has 19 members including Universities, research institutions and special interest organisations such as the Cancer Council Victoria, Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre and the National Heart Foundation. See the Member Organisations page for a complete listing.
We are grateful for the financial support of VicHealth, and the involvement of both VicHealth and the Department of Human Services (DHS) on VPHREC's Board of Directors.
The VPHREC office has closed from Friday 29 June 2007. The VPHREC website will be up until 16 August 2007, but will not be maintained after 29 June.
Events Diary
The VPHREC Events Diary service is being taken on by VicHealth after 29 June 2007 and VicHealth is offering a similar web based news service. The material provided in their events diary will continue to include educational events and funding advice. It will no longer include job vacancies and publication notices.
To see the Events Diary on the VicHealth website, go to www.vichealth.vic.gov.au. You can subscribe from that page.
VPHREC Directors
VPHREC’s Directors continue to meet regularly. Their current concerns are:
- a Data Linkage Project for advocacy to expand capacity for data linkage in public health research;
- building public health research workforce capability; and,
- integration of Primary Prevention research, policy, and practice.
See Directors Page or VicHealth website for contact details.
